Hostelworld has announced the winners this year – and Portugal have podium places.
It’s official: the Hoscars 2016 winners are already known. Considered the Oscars of the hostel world, the awards were awarded based on user ratings on Hostelworld website. Among the 33,000 properties that competed for the Hosts (Hostelworld Customer Annual Ratings), nine hostels received a prize – six in Lisbon and three in Porto.
Portugal received awards in three categories: Best Small Size Hostels, Best Medium Size Hostels and Best Large Hostels. The awards were given by the readers of Hostelworld, who evaluated the spaces according to the criteria quality-price ratio; safety; location; Staff; environment; cleaning; Infrastructures; And global customer experience. The awards are also awarded by country and in this case Home Lisbon Hostel was considered the best hostel in Portugal. Remember NiT’s criticism of this space.
